PRESIDENT JANKOBA SAMBOLA INVITES YOU TO “A BACK TO SCHOOL” PICNIC IN CINCINNATI, OHIO

The newly elected President of the Liberian Community of Greater Cincinnati (LCGC) in Ohio, Mr. Jankoba Sambola may be one of the best leaders in our community. LCGC is a non-political, non-profit, and non-tribal organization of Liberians from all walks of life engaged in humanitarian, social, and community development programs that serves Liberians and friends of Liberia in the Greater Cincinnati area and surroundings.

The Community is mainly run by volunteers who work hard to provide our members with a wide range of activities and events, to make the United States a home away from home. The objective of the Association is to help its members find their feet firmly grounded in a new country, and to help them lead a contented and pleasant life, enriched by new friends, new interests and opportunities by providing extensive productive social and educational programs.

In March of 2017, the former Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, Mr. Sambola was elected President along with a team of strong and dedicated members to manage and run the day-to-day affairs of the Organization for the next two years. Within a short period of five months, the work of the Sambola-Spears administration was already notable. The successful planning and celebration of the Liberia’s Independence Day held on July 29th, 2017 is one example among others.

During the Independence Day celebration, the President announced that proceeds from that event will go to “LCGC BACK TO SCHOOL" program.

The “LCGC BACK TO SCHOOL” was first introduced by former President Isaac Nynenawah in 2016, and its main objective is to foster the relationship between LCGC and the children. The record shows that more than 75 children benefited from the program in 2016.

This year Back To School event is slated for August 19th, 2017 from 10am to 5pm EST at 25 Nuxhall Blvd, Hamilton, OH 45014, and expects a huge turnout. Accordingly, free school supplies will be given away to children at no cost to parents. Additionally, educational games and other sports will be available for children to play.

President Sambola said his administration is dedicated to children’s education; he believes this picnic serves as little token for children to show that LCGC stands by them and appreciates their hard work. Therefore, Mr. Sambola is asking the entire community to bring their children to this picnic on August 19th.
